How Roco Kingdom Guide uses cookies and local storage, and how to control them.

The short version

This site does not set advertising cookies, analytics cookies or social tracking cookies. It does not embed third-party widgets that would set them on our behalf. The only thing stored on your device by our own code is a single theme preference in local storage, and the host that delivers the pages may set strictly necessary security cookies. That is the whole list.

Because there is no tracking to consent to, there is no cookie banner and no "accept" button. A prompt for something we do not do would be noise.

What we do not use

There is no Google Analytics, no Google Tag Manager, no advertising network, no heatmap recorder, no A/B testing tool and no social media pixel. Tracking scripts of that kind would be visible in the page source, and they are not there.

Fonts are served from this domain rather than requested from a third-party font service, so loading a page does not send your IP address to a font CDN. The site also sets a referrer policy that limits how much information is passed to external pages when you follow a link.

Local storage for your theme

The light or dark toggle in the header saves your choice under the local storage key site:theme, with the value "light" or "dark". A short script in the page head reads it before the page paints, which prevents a flash of the wrong colour scheme. This value never leaves your browser and is not readable by us.

Unlike a cookie, local storage is not attached to HTTP requests, so it cannot identify you to the server. It has no expiry date; it stays until you clear it or change the theme.

Cookies set by our host

The site is served by Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary cookies or similar technical tokens to keep connections secure, balance load and detect abusive traffic. These are set by the hosting layer, not by our pages, and they are not used to build advertising profiles. Their exact names and lifetimes are controlled by Cloudflare and can change without notice on our side.

Cloudflare publishes its own cookie documentation; we cannot list current names reliably because we do not control them.

How to remove them

Clear local storage and cookies from your browser's privacy or site data settings, or browse in a private window so they are discarded on close. Blocking cookies entirely will not break the guides; the only visible effect is that your theme choice may not persist between visits.

For the wider picture of what the site stores and why, see the privacy policy. Questions can go to [email protected].
